Explore Science in Magdeburg

The premiere of ‘Explore Science’ took place in Magdeburg from 25 to 27 September.

The "Explore Science" experience days are an annual event organised by the Klaus Tschira Foundation. Schoolchildren and families can discover the world of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology through exciting workshops and experiments.

The intoMINT project team was represented with its own interactive station: under the motto ‘Welcome to intoMINT’, visitors were able to try out various experiments for themselves – from non-Newtonian fluids and painting with natural colours to programming their own mandalas and building the game ‘Hot Wire’.

We also offered a workshop entitled ‘Program your own self-driving car’. Here, the pupils built their own mini cars and programmed them so that they could drive without a remote control – a playful combination of computer science and technology that generated a lot of enthusiasm.

The offers were very well received by young and old alike, and the personal exchange with pupils, teachers and parents was particularly valuable.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to the organisers, all participants and helpers for an inspiring festival – and we are already looking forward to the next Explore Science in Magdeburg.
