Girls' Day 2024

On April 25, Girls' Day took place at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences in cooperation with intoMINT.

Girls' Day is a nationwide event in Germany that gives girls the opportunity to explore various career fields. The goal is to broaden their career choices and open up new perspectives. Numerous companies, universities, and organizations participate to offer hands-on insights into different professions.

Unfortunately, girls still tend to choose careers in the fields of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and technology (STEM) less frequently. The intoMINT project team addressed exactly this issue with an exciting program designed to spark girls’ interest in the world of STEM.

The program included an introduction to programming using the micro:bit. A particular highlight was navigating a mini car through a maze. This playful approach to programming is intended to encourage girls to consider a career path in computer science.
