Career planning and strategies for building your career
There are two directions a researcher can take when choosing a career: A career in industry or a career in academia.
To make an informed decision about which career path suits me best, I need to think about my preferences, get to know my strengths and weaknesses and discover the opportunities and challenges of each career path.
In this online workshop, we will take a first step towards reflecting on your individual situation:Why did I become a scientist? What motivates me? What is challenging and difficult about my job as a researcher? Based on these reflections, the participants shed light on their strengths and weaknesses. This leads to the development of a future vision of the perfect job that corresponds to individual needs and wishes. This vision is placed in a realistic context of available options.
In the second part of the workshop, participants develop both their performance and presence in application processes as well as the self-presentation and self-marketing that establishes themselves in the field.
In terms of creation and appearance, body language and use of voice play a crucial role.
Through practical exercises, participants learn how they can further develop their potential towards optimal performance. Application documents can be viewed and commented on.
